The Rundown Display of a Life in Sequence
From a dream.
(Digital)
Like so many of my dreams, this one started out on a stage, turned into a brief (and suitably bracing) homage to Silent Hill, and then became a series of odd museum-like rooms along one side of an infinite hallway. Almost everything in every room was lacquer black, shining, and wet. The walls and ceilings were rotten and bowing. I thought it was someone’s idea of a memory of a life they had imagined, with a room for every important event. But the display had slipped their mind and was slowly washing away.
Pencils for the Three of Swords
Tarot all the time over here.
(Pencil on Paper)
… Okay, most of the time.
Fluffy Magical Clouds
I went for a walk tonight and saw some lovely summer sunset clouds.
(Digital)
They made me think of county fairs and cotton candy and mini donuts. Unicorns were obviously the next step in the thought process.
The Very Picture of Hermit Wisdom
A dog.
(Pencil and Ink on Paper)
First of all, I feel like a happy hermit would have an animal companion. Dog, cat, raven… someone to keep them company. I’m a hermit who prefers a nice dog, but I’m a fan of all creatures.
Second, animals are much better teachers than humans, so the hermit would actually just be hanging out, learning things from their animal pal (or pals; respect for St. Francis). Things they could attempt to translate to the others who came up the mountain in search of wisdom, but it would never quite translate, because you can only put information into language; wisdom is something else all together.
